The Disney Scoop, Issue #031-- Disney Discounts, News, Tips, and more....
March 01, 2011
Yay!! Spring is almost here! It has been such a cold and long winter and the boys and I are ready for some outdoor sports, sun, and fun!
This is also a very busy time for Disney lovers! Many people are now planning their summer vacations. If you will be going to Disney World this summer, I hope you have already made your dining reservations, If not, I’d advise you to finalize your choices and make those reservations as soon as possible.
For those traveling to Disney World in September, your 180 day window is now open (or soon will be depending on your arrival day). For those going in October 2011, your 180 day point is quickly approaching! Get ready to make all of your dining reservations and set your alarm for 7:00 am eastern time on your reservation day! Or you can use the online system at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/. It is soooo easy to use that online system. I love it!
If you are not using a Disney Vacation Package, and need to buy tickets, you may want to check out Maple Leaf – they always have a good discount. (They sell discounted Universal and other Orlando attraction tickets too.)
I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to all those who made a donation to the website in the past couple of months, especially Trey and his family from Arizona. If you have found our website to be helpful in planning your trip, please consider making a contribution. Remember, your donations help defray the costs associated with creating and maintaining the site. See the Chip In section to donate or to learn more. Thanks again.
Lastly, if you haven’t already, I suggest that you check out the Disney vacation planning spreadsheet. It is a simple spreadsheet that makes planning out your Disney days super easy! Read more about the spreadsheet.

Well, I’m sure you’ve all heard that Toontown in the Magic Kingdom has closed. But, you can still meet Mickey Mouse in person, and may not have to wait so long on line to do so!! This spring, guests will be able to use the FastPass system for a meet and greet opportunity with Mickey. This FastPass will work just like a regular FastPass. This is the first time the system has been used for this purpose.
Playhouse Disney is now called Disney Junior. So far, Disney Junior is a complete and total hit in my house. My little guy cannot get enough of Jake and the Neverland Pirates! In fact he is playing an online game featuring them right now!!
Anyway, naturally, it makes sense that the live stage shows at Hollywood Studios would reflect this change.
The new Disney Junior – Live on Stage! show debuts on March 4th at the Studios. Jake and the Neverland Pirates will replace the Pooh portion of the show.
During the past few months, I’ve had numerous people inquire about my website – like how I started it, how income is generated, and what’s all involved in getting a site up-and-running. I thought I would share a couple of things with all of you about this topic.
In this time of economic upheaval, an internet business is a great alternative or replacement for a traditional office job. Think about it. You get to share your thoughts and opinions on a topic near and dear to your heart – and you can do it all from the comfort of your own home – even in your pajamas if you wish!
What about you? Do you have something that you are passionate about? Are you looking for a way to make some extra money each month? Are you a student, a retiree or maybe a stay-at-home mom who needs a creative outlet?
Why not start a website? I know it sounds intimidating, but hear me out. I knew NOTHING about website building when I started… so I really needed a “Website-Builder-for-Dummies” kind of thing – and guess what? I found it. It is called Site Build It! It is a wonderful service that does all of the behind-the-scenes work for you – leaving you to focus solely on the content of your website.
If you are not using a Disney vacation package, you can either purchase your park tickets directly from Disney at the gate, or you can get discounted Disney World tickets from an outside vendor.
These vendors buy tickets in bulk and pass the savings on to you – the consumer! I recommend buying your Disney tickets or tickets for other Orlando attractions from Maple Leaf Tickets. In addition to Disney tickets, they also offer discounts on many Orlando area shows, attractions, dinner shows, and theme parks.
They offer competitive pricing paired with over twenty years of industry experience. They’ll even deliver your tickets to your resort hotel or directly to your home before your vacation!
Kids Stay and Play Free!
