The Disney Scoop, Issue #032-- Disney Discounts, News, Tips, and more....
July 30, 2011

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the Summer edition of the Disney Scoop! I hope that you all are enjoying these lazy, hazy days of summer….it sure has been a hot one so far! Thankfully my family was able to escape the heat for a while – we ventured out West this year….Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Vegas, and finally Disneyland!! Whew….we need a vacation from our vacation! We saw fantastic sights and loved every minute of the trip.

But, back to my favorite vacation destination – Disney World! First and foremost, an exciting rumor regarding free dining has been going around….(see the news below for details…)

If you have an upcoming trip planned, I hope you have already made your dining reservations, If not, I’d advise you to finalize your choices and make those reservations as soon as possible.

For those traveling to Disney World in February 2012 or after, your 180 day point is quickly approaching! Get ready to make all of your dining reservations and set your alarm for 7:00 am eastern time on your reservation day! Or you can use the online system at It is soooo easy to use that online system. I love it!

If you are not using a Disney Vacation Package, and need to buy tickets, you may want to check out Maple Leaf – they always have a good discount. (They also sell discounted Universal and other Orlando attraction tickets too.)

Be sure to read the “What’s New on the Site” section below. Now you can contribute Your Disney Stories!

Lastly, if you haven’t already (and tons of you have!), I suggest that you check out the Disney vacation planning spreadsheet. It is a simple spreadsheet that makes planning out your Disney days super easy! Read more about the spreadsheet.

Start Your Own Web Business!
(back to Table of Contents)

During the past few months, I’ve had numerous people inquire about my website – like how I started it, how income is generated, and what’s all involved in getting a site up-and-running. I thought I would share a couple of things with all of you about this topic.

In this time of economic upheaval, an internet business is a great alternative or replacement for a traditional office job. Think about it. You get to share your thoughts and opinions on a topic near and dear to your heart – and you can do it all from the comfort of your own home – even in your pajamas if you wish!

What about you? Do you have something that you are passionate about? Are you looking for a way to make some extra money each month? Are you a student, a retiree or maybe a stay-at-home mom who needs a creative outlet?

Why not start a website? I know it sounds intimidating, but hear me out. I knew NOTHING about website building when I started… so I really needed a “Website-Builder-for-Dummies” kind of thing – and guess what? I found it. It is called Site Build It! It is a wonderful service that does all of the behind-the-scenes work for you – leaving you to focus solely on the content of your website.

Please feel free to ask me about it or just go check it out for yourself!

Discounted Tickets
(back to Table of Contents)

If you are not using a Disney vacation package, you can either purchase your park tickets directly from Disney at the gate, or you can get discounted Disney World tickets from an outside vendor.

These vendors buy tickets in bulk and pass the savings on to you – the consumer! I recommend buying your Disney tickets or tickets for other Orlando attractions from Maple Leaf Tickets. In addition to Disney tickets, they also offer discounts on many Orlando area shows, attractions, dinner shows, and theme parks.

They offer competitive pricing paired with over twenty years of industry experience. They’ll even deliver your tickets to your resort hotel or directly to your home before your vacation!

Tip of the Month
(back to Table of Contents)

Ride after the Fireworks

This month’s tip comes directly from a reader submission through one of the links on Your Stories. (see the “What’s New on the Site” section below. Thanks to Chuck from Pennsylvania for this great tip.

If the Magic Kingdom has extra magic hours or remains open after the "Wishes" fireworks display, ride, ride, ride! We have practiced this tip numerous times.

A vast amount of people leave the park after the fireworks, this allows access to the rides. We went in January 2011, and both times we were in the park after Wishes we rode at least 5 to 6 of the major attractions with little or no wait.

We also noted that the Magic Kingdom is extremly slow on Wednesdays this time of year. One Wednesday we rode any attraction we wanted as much as we wanted.
