New Years Eve at Disney World

Disney Happy New Year
Ring in the New Year – Disney Style!

Spending New Years Eve in Disney World sounds like a thrilling and fun idea to me. So, if you ever plan on doing so, here are a few suggestions and things to keep in mind.

First, all parks have extended hours and are very crowded. Pick a park and plan to arrive at the opening time. Try to spend the entire day there (don't leave and come back). It will be super crowded and sometimes they will refuse admittance if the park is at capacity. Do not plan on park hopping on New Year’s Eve.

Fastpasses may be hard to get on that day. Get any fastpasses that you want as early as possible. You will probably see the wait-times for the most popular attractions in excess of 2 hours.

The parks have live entertainment throughout the day/evening in addition to special fireworks for ringing in the New Year.

As far as dining goes, reservations can be booked up to 180 days in advance. Call 407-939-3463 or 1-877-939-3732. Depending on which restaurant you choose, you may have to use a credit card to hold the reservation. Also, there is usually a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Again, be sure to make your dining selection and arrangements well in advance.

I personally think one of the Epcot restaurants would be particularly fun on New Year’s Eve. Wouldn’t it be neat to have a reservation at one of the World Showcase restaurants for around the time that country will be celebrating their New Year's back home?

For example, the United Kingdom is five hours ahead of Disney World, so at 7:00 pm in Orlando it is midnight in the UK. By booking your dinner for 6:30 pm on New Year's Eve, you can enjoy your meal in the Rose and Crown when midnight is struck in the real UK. Then you can do it all again five hours later when it turns midnight for everyone in America (or at least the east coast)!

Happy New Year!

Feliz Ano ~Nuevo! Godt Nyttår! Bonne Annee! Xin Nian Kuai Le!

Prosit Neujahr! Felice anno nuovo! Akimashite Omedetto Gozaimasu!
