A tipping chart can help you easily figure the amount of the tip or gratuity when dining at a Disney table service restaurant – or anywhere else for that matter.
Note: As of 2008, the Disney Dining Plans (both basic and deluxe options) no longer include the gratuity in the cost of the plan.
Amounts for an 18% or 20% gratuity are listed in the tipping chart below. These are the most common levels used when tipping for a meal.
If you wish, adjust your tipping amount to reflect the quality of service you recieved. You can still use the tipping chart to figure the tip, and then add to or subtract from the gratuity value from the chart.
You can use the tipping chart as a guide to help plan your budget for your Disney vacation. Wheather you are using a dining plan or not, you will need to budget for tipping. Chart out your table service dining choices, and estimate what you think the total check will amount to. Be sure to include the cost of drinks! Then use the tipping chart to determine the tip / gratuity for each of these meals.
Note: Disney automatically adds an 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. Even if you have a non-eater at your table, they still count as a member of your party for tipping purposes.
A non-eater could be a child under three, including an infant, or maybe another person who is seated at your table but did not order anything from the menu.
Be sure to “check your check” before leaving a tip. Don’t leave an additional tip if one was already added for you!
Doing higher math while on vacation is no fun! But having a tipping chart at your disposal makes quick work of computing an acceptable tip.
So, here’s what I would do. Print out the tipping chart below and stick it in your pocket – right there next to your special Disney spreadsheet. That way, tipping will be easy and hassle free!

To use the tipping chart below, simply find the amount of your dining check in the first column. Then move across the tipping chart to find the 18% or 20% tip value for that amount. Easy breezy!
